- The first overseas subsidiary company "Siam Showa T & T Co., Ltd." was established in Bangkok, Thailand.

- "Showtan Techno-Machine Nanjing Co., Ltd." was established in Nanjing, China.

- Showa Tansan Co., Ltd. become a consolidated subsidiary of Showa Denko K.K..
